Whilst the majority of illegal tobacco is sold to adults, its cheapness and availability also makes it easier for kids to buy. A recent survey of 14-17 year-olds living in the North West found that one in three of those who took part had knowingly bought 'fake' cigarettes.
We found this information in a research study by Ci Research (2009). The study aimed to uncover the attitudes and behaviours of 14 - 17 year olds living in North West England in relation to smoking.
